Gokyo Valley trek is one of the most popular, traditional, and outstanding treks in the Khumbu region of Nepal. This fascinating trek offers you a magnificent view of the mighty Himalayas including Mt Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu, and many more cultural and natural sightseeing sites.
Gokyo valley trek situated in the Everest region of Nepal, is famous for its captivating view of the ice Lake of Gokyo, extravagant view of Kalapatter, and the flawless view of Mt Everest. Gokyo flourished with a snow-covered landscape, Ngozumpa Glacier- the largest in the Nepal Himalayas, cultural villages of Sherpa people, religious sites and old monuments of Buddhist culture, and the warm hospitality of the inhabitants.

Gokyo Valley trek starts with an exotic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (3200m), one of the most adventurous airstrips around the world. We then ascend our trek into the Sherpa cultural villages all the way to Gokyo Valley. The trek is organized and the trekking trail is flourished with adventure, excitement, and the most beautiful natural landscape throughout the Everest region.
Commencing this fascinating Gokyo Valley trek will leave you with a mesmeric experience of both cultural and natural sightseeing around the high Himalayas of Nepal.

Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla trek to Phakding
Today early in the morning we fly a scenic Mountain Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2810m). After a short rest, we start our Trek ascending all the way to Phakding (2,640 m). Rest overnight.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
The trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is a beautiful one, taking around 4-5 hours to complete. As you gradually ascend, the trail will offer views of the surrounding mountains, lush forests, and charming villages. Namche Bazaar, sitting at 3,440 meters, is indeed considered the “Gateway to Everest” due to its strategic location for trekkers heading toward Everest Base Camp.
Once you arrive in Namche, you’ll have a chance to explore this vibrant town, which has plenty to offer. It’s a great spot to pick up any last-minute trekking essentials, such as extra gear, snacks, or clothing. You can also find local shops selling unique Sherpa-made goods and souvenirs.
After your trek, it will be important to rest and acclimatize at Namche before moving higher up in the Everest region. The town is known for its excellent hospitality, so you’ll likely enjoy the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the lodges there.

Early morning trek to Gokyo RI and back to Gokyo
Today early in the morning our trek ascends to Gokyo- RI And then climbs Back to Gokyo (4,750 m). This is the highest point of the trek. Enjoy the classic view of Mt Everest and other mighty Himalayas of Nepal. Rest overnight.

Trek from Gokyo to Phortse Village (3860m/12664ft)
Gokyo to Phortse will offer you a different perspective of the landscape, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The descent from a high altitude can also give your body some time to adjust after the higher elevations of Gokyo, making it a perfect opportunity to relax and focus on recovery.
Phortse is a lovely village with incredible views of the Himalayas. It must be a great place to spend the night, perhaps with a chance to enjoy some local food and culture before resting for the night.

Trek from Phortse to Namche(3,440 m/11,286 ft.
The descent from Phortse back to Namche Bazaar sounds like a pleasant day of trekking, giving you a chance to revisit the beautiful Sherpa villages and enjoy the stunning scenery on the way down. Walking for 5-6 hours will be a good balance of time spent on the trail, giving you enough time to relax once you arrive in Namche. The elevation of 3,440 meters at Namche is a comfortable place to rest after a descent, and the hospitality of the Sherpa people is always a highlight.
Once you’re in Namche, you can enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of the town, perhaps revisit some of the places you explored earlier in your trek, or just enjoy some downtime to reflect on your journey. If you’re feeling up to it, you could even explore a bit more of the area around Namche.
