Start the journey with a scenic Lukla flight and return by helicopter
We start with an exciting and scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. This short flight gives us amazing views of the Himalayan mountains and marks the beginning of our adventure.
Once we reach Everest Base Camp, we arrange a helicopter ride from Everest back to Kathmandu to make your journey even better and quicker. This thrilling helicopter trip gives you a fantastic view of the Himalayas from the sky and saves you a lot of time.
Communication
In most places during your trek, you’ll have internet and phone service to stay connected with your loved ones and share your adventures.
However, as you go higher into the mountains, there might be times when you can’t get a phone or internet signal because it’s really remote and high up there.
We give our trekking groups special satellite phones in these tough and remote spots. These phones work even in remote areas, so you can reach out for help if needed.
First Aid, Oxygen, and oximeter for Medical Assistance
We care about the safety of trekkers, especially those who are new to it. To ensure everyone is looked after properly, we have some medical stuff along the way for the Everest base trek for beginners.
Our guides are experienced, and they know what to do in case someone has a problem. They have these kits with all the things needed to treat small injuries like cuts and blisters. So, if something minor happens, they can help right away.
Because the air gets thinner as you climb the mountains, some people might feel sick with headaches or trouble breathing. To be safe, we bring extra oxygen and a device to check how much oxygen is in your blood.
This can help if someone is having problems because of the high altitude. Our guides are trained to handle these kinds of issues, and having extra oxygen is like a backup plan for safety.
Helicopter rescue in emergencies
Staying safe during the Everest base camp trek is super important. If something really bad happens, like a serious medical problem or something else, someone needs help immediately. We’ve got a good plan to use helicopters for rescues.
When the helicopter is on its way and lands at the closest spot it can, our team on the ground will help the hiker get on board. We’ll make sure they’re safe and comfortable during the ride.
Depending on how bad things are, the helicopter will take the hiker to the nearest medical place that can help them. Usually, this means going to a hospital in Kathmandu, where they have really good doctors and equipment.
How to prepare for the Everest base camp trek for beginners?
Getting started with fitness and health
Before beginning a trek to Everest Base Camp as a beginner, you must consider your health and fitness. To get in shape, you should follow a plan that includes exercises that get your heart pumped up, improve your muscles, and increase your stamina. This will help you adjust to the high altitudes.
During trekking, go up the mountain slowly to give your body time to adjust to the lower oxygen levels. Walking too fast can make you sick from the altitude. Drinking enough water, eating energy-rich food, and taking rest breaks are recommended for beginners on the Everest base camp trek.
You should talk to your doctor before you start your trip if you already have health issues. They can tell you if you need any shots or medicines and if you’re fit enough for the trek.
Considering these things, you can ensure your trekking to Everest Base Camp as a beginner is safe and enjoyable.

The Best Time to Trek to Everest Base Camp for Beginners?
Spring and autumn are the most suitable times for beginners to go to Everest Base Camp. Spring runs from March to May, while autumn spans from September to November. These seasons offer favorable weather for a pleasant and safe trek in the Everest region.
The weather is pleasant in spring, and the path is beautiful with rhododendron blooms and other wildflowers. The sky is also usually clear to see the fantastic Himalayan views.
Autumn is also an excellent time to trek because the weather is steady and the skies are clear. The days are not too hot, and while nights can be a bit cold, you can manage with the right gear.
During these seasons, you have the best chance to avoid heavy snow or monsoon rains, which can make the trek hard for beginners. The teahouses and facilities along the trail are open and working, so you’ll have a more comfortable trip.
But remember, planning well and getting used to the high altitude are important. Also, have an experienced guide who knows the area to make the Everest base camp trek safe and enjoyable for beginners.
Necessary Permits and Paperwork
When planning your Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal, it’s essential to get the necessary permits and complete the required paperwork. This ensures your safety and compliance with local regulations. Here are the requirements you’ll need:
Trekking Permit (TIMS Card)
You must have a TIMS card, which stands for Trekkers’ Information Management System. There are two types: one for people trekking independently and another for those going with a trekking agency. You can get this card in Kathmandu or Pokhara through the Nepal Tourism Board or a registered trekking agency.
Sagarmatha National Park Permit
Everest Base Camp is in Sagarmatha National Park, so you need a permit to enter. You can get this permit either in Kathmandu or when you reach the park entrance in Monjo while on your trek.
Keep in mind that permit requirements and regulations might change over time. The permit requirements for the Everest Base Camp trek are the same for beginners and experienced trekkers.

You don’t need special mountain-climbing skills because it’s more like a long hike at high altitudes. The main challenge is that it takes about 20 days to complete if you count the days in Kathmandu. This is because you need to walk slowly at high levels to get used to the thin air.

Luxury lodges (Yeti Mountain Home, Everest View Hotel, etc.) are available in some places that are comfortable and have more amenities.
Altitude sickness during Everest base camp trek for beginners
Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), is a big worry during Everest Base Camp Trek for beginners. The base camp itself is really high up, about 5,364 meters or 17,598 feet above sea level, and the trek involves going even higher.
AMS, or Acute Mountain Sickness, occurs when your body struggles to adjust to the reduced oxygen levels at higher elevations. It can cause things like headaches, feeling sick to your stomach, dizziness, tiredness, and trouble breathing. To avoid it, trekkers should take their time and let their bodies get used to the thin air by spending a day or two at places that are not as high.
Drinking enough water and getting good rest is really important. Some people might also take a medicine called Diamox to help prevent AMS. However, if symptoms worsen, it is crucial to descend to a lower altitude in order to prevent high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) or high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE), two potentially fatal forms of altitude sickness.
Hydration and nutrition
Staying healthy while trekking is very important. Two big things to remember are hydration and nutrition on the Everest base camp trek for beginners.
Drinking plenty of fluids might help to maintain your stamina and prevent dehydration. In case you can’t find any potable water in the wild, be sure to have enough of clean water with you, as well as a technique to purify more water.
You want food that’s easy to carry, won’t spoil, and gives you the right stuff your body needs. Snacks like trail mix, granola bars, and chocolate are good because they keep you energized. Don’t forget things like oatmeal and whole grain crackers to keep you going all day.
It’s also a good idea to have some protein, like dried meat or nut butter, to help your muscles recover. If you can, bring fresh fruits for vitamins and minerals to keep you healthy.
