Journey to the Himalayas!
We plan custom and flexible holiday trips according to your holiday duration, extra wishes, and demands.
Plan your TripsIf you desire one of the most comprehensive, raw, and wild trekking and mountain adventures in Nepal, then our Nar Phu Valley trek with the Chulu Far East climbing expedition is the right journey for you.
Located in the far secluded corner of the Annapurna region, our Nar Phu Valley trek with Chulu Far East climbing expedition will redirect your way from the high trafficked trail of Annapurna Circuit into the restricted wilderness of Nar Phu Valley and Chulu Far East Peak.
With high-altitude pass crossing, conquering one of the technical summit peaks, and richness of authentic ancient Buddhist culture, our Nar Phu Valley Trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing 21 days journey, surpasses all the elements of an adventurous trip in Nepal.
Our Nar Phu Valley trek with the Chulu Far East climbing expedition begins with the initial journey into the Marshyangdi Valley of Nepal. Then, the trail will break away to Koto resting beside the Nar Khola.
You will then ascend to Meta, from where you will journey into the ancient stone villages of Phu (4200 m) and Nar (4110 m). This uncommercialized route was opened only in 2003, and it still requires a Restricted Area Permit to enter.
With Tibetan Khampa tradition, flat-roofed stone houses, colorful prayer flags, ancient chorten, and the rich heritage of Satte Monastery, these two villages offer you the beautiful glances of Kanguru, Pisang, Gangapurna, Annapurna massifs, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu.
Then, our Nar Phu valley trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing itinerary will continue toward the rugged Kang La Pass (5306 m). Once you are atop the pointy summit of the pass, you will have a jaw-dropping panorama of Himlung, Tilicho, Gangapurna, Annapurna II, III, IV, Kanguru, and many more.
After conquering the pass, the real mountaineering segment of our Nar Phu Valley trek with the Chulu Far East climbing expedition begins. You will descend to the Upper Manang Valley to the scenic village of Ngawal.
You will then traverse the steep glacial moraines and establish your base camp and High camp of Chulu Far East peak at 4835 m and 5334 m, respectively.
Chulu Far East peak at 6059 m altitude sits quietly in the Manang district to the north of Annapurna summit. Regarded as one of the best entry-level peaks in Nepal, Chulu Far East is moderately difficult to ascend and requires alpine technical skills of moving along fixed ropes, climbing steep snow slopes inclined to 35 to 45 degrees, using jumar and accurate crampons and ice axe techniques.
First conquered in 1955 by a German expedition, this peak offers you the incomparable views of Annapurna, Chulu West, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho, Gangapurna, Pisang peaks, along with Tibetan plateaus and Thorong La Pass.
Once complete, our Nar Phu Valley trek with the Chulu Far East climbing expedition will lead you back to the lively chaos of Annapurna and back to Kathmandu.
Spring and Autumn seasons offer the optimal seasons for our Nar Phu Valley trek with Chulu Far East climbing expedition, suitable for new climbers and experienced trekkers.
If you also wish to have true seclusion in the wilderness, wish to observe cultural purity and achieve the personal milestone of conquering a 6000 m summit, then our Nar Phu Valley trek with Chulu Far East climbing expedition is designed specially for you.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best engaging seasons for our Nar Phu valley trek with Kang La Pass and Chulu Far East Peak climbing expedition.
These two seasons in Nepal offer highly stable weather, clear visibility, and safe snow conditions essential for complex adventures such as ours.
Fresh crisp air, bright blue sky, exceptional view, lower risk of rainstorm and avalanche, along with 10 to 16 degrees Celsius mild temperature, make the autumn season the most desired among climbers.
Spring, on the other hand, offers the explosion of bright colors on the landscape, a stable and compact trail to the summit, and warmer and longer days suitable for long trekking.
Winter (December to February) and summer/monsoon (June to August) are best to avoid. Winter can bring sudden blizzards, minus degree temperatures, and abandoned villages of Nar and Phu.
Summer brings continuous downpour and heavy fog, and clouds obstructing the views and making the pass crossing and summit climbing almost impossible.
According to the Alpine grading system, Chulu Far East peak is a PD graded summit which is classified as a Trekking peak in Nepal by the Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA).
It is a perfect entry-level summit which will introduce new climbers to real alpine adventure. The ascent to the summit requires basic technical and safety skills, which will be provided by our climbing guide during the expedition.
As for the overall Nar Phu valley trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing expedition, it is classified as a moderately strenuous alpine journey graded as 4D.
The entire adventure combines long trekking days, the remote wilderness of Nar and Phu villages, crossing of the massive Kang La Pass, and a rustic stay at tea houses and tents on the trail.
Thus, this trip demands excellent level of physical fitness, high mental resilience, adaptability, flexibility, and basic skills in using technical mountaineering gear.
Chulu Far East peak, if compared to its sibling peaks of Chulu East and West, is relatively less challenging. However, it still consists of certain technically challenging sections that require your careful vigilance and attention.
This is the segment situated between High Camp and the summit of Chulu Far East. The trail in between consists of loose, uncompacted rock and icy terrain, which requires the use of rope.
It also consists of massive crevasses with an inclination between 35 and 45 degrees, where you will have to rely on crampons and an ice axe.
It is the point located just before you reach the final summit ridge. This is, in fact, the most technically demanding section of the entire trail to the summit, where you will have to tackle steep snow and ice with gradients often reaching 60 degrees.
There can also be deep and hard snow and ice, and so you will have to rely on fixed lines and a jumar to safely climb this section.
This is the final challenge of the Chulu Far East summit, where you will have to cross a knife-edge ridge. This is a highly exposed section of the summit where high-altitude winds can often disturb your balance.
The trail is also narrow, and so you will have to keep your absolute cool while climbing in synchronization with your team along the rope.
Our Nar Phu valley trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing expedition is an introductory adventure suitable for new climbers and experienced high-altitude trekkers.
Please remember, if you are an absolute beginner with zero experience in mountain trekking, then you should first gain practical lessons by engaging in the Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit trek.
However, beginner climbers with zero technical background, excellent physical fitness, and good health are eligible to join our Nar Phu valley trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing expedition.
Kindly understand, however, you must have strong legs and knees, and strong cardiovascular strength in order to walk uphill for 5 to 6 hours consecutively. You should also be able to be on your legs for 8 to 10 hours on the summit day.
As for the age, you must be at least 16 years old to participate in our Nar Phu Valley Trek with Chulu Far East Peak Climbing 21 days adventure. Also, you must travel in a group accompanied by a local certified guide.
We don’t recommend our Nar Phu valley trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing expedition to individuals with cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, asthma, or high blood pressure.
If you have a history of suffering from severe altitude sickness, then please consult your doctor before booking our Nar Phu Valley trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing expedition.
Our Nar Phu Valley trek with Kang La Pass and Chulu Far East Peak climbing expedition includes the crossing of Kang La Pass and reaching the summit of Chulu Far East, along with trekking into Nar Phu Valley.
Thus, the altitude sickness probability is around 60 to 70 percent on this trip. However, we have designed our Nar Phu valley trek with Chulu Far East Peak climbing itinerary with an excellent strategy for natural acclimatization, so the probability of severe AMS is low, while mild AMS can occur.
Headache, fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite, and mild insomnia are the symptoms of mild AMS, which are normal to feel and disappear with hydration, rest, and slow walking.
If symptoms persist and get severe with vomiting, disorientation, then our guide will take you on immediate descent followed by a rest at a lower elevation. If needed, oxygen will also be available for immediate administration.
We strongly suggest you consume 4 to 5 liters of water daily, use a slow pace, and use Diamox to help you for faster acclimatization.
