Classical Treks in Nepal

Nepal, the oldest country in South Asia. Nepal is a very rich country in terms cultural diversity and biodiversity due to its unique geographical position. This country is full of villages and ethnic settlements. Every ethnic group and their own culture and tradition. Nepal is the country of Himalayas and also the land of the Buddha (light of Asia). Most of the people who think to trek in the high altitude of Himalayas; they think undoubtedly about Nepal because there are thousands of the peaks and mountains. Nepal has 8 different mountains which included in top 10 worlds highest mountains in Nepal. There are different trekking routes which are classic (you can enjoy the vintage way of welcoming guest by the locals during trekking on these treks). Classic trek considered to be those trekking routes which are opened for international trekkers for many years. In past there were only limited number trekking routes in which the foreigner are allowed, such trekking routes are also termed as classical trekking routes. The mention Trekking is known as the classical trekking routes in Nepal.

  1. Everest Base Camp Trek Trekking days (7 to above 25 days)

Everest base camp trek in one of the old Trekking routes discovered by Hillary and Tenzing in 1952 AD. Everest base camp is situated at the altitude of 5364 m high where the oxygen percentage is only 50% than the sea level. Everest Base Camp is the dream of every adventure love from all around the world.

The trekking day to reach and back from Everest base camp is varies, which is totally depends upon trekker. Life Himalaya Trekking operates shortest base camp trek, which only takes 9 days from arrival to departure. We also have 7 days but it is little risky. 9 days trek is only the shortest and quickest way reach Everest base camp just in few days.

For reaching in Everest base camp you have two option from where you want to start. One starting point is Jiri and another is Lukla (One of the most Extreme airports in the world).

Short itinerary for Everest base camp 10 days Trek:

  • Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,804 m/ 9,200 ft.) & trek to Phakding (2,623 m/8,605 ft.) 5-6 hrs.
  • Day 02:  Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,286 ft.) 6-7 hrs.
  • Day 03: Rest day at Namche Bazaar and excursion Namche and Syangboche (3,880 m/12,726 ft.) 2-3 hrs.
  • Day 04: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867 m/12,686 ft.) 5-6 hrs.
  • Day 05: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,350m/14,272 ft.) 5-6 hrs.
  • Day 06:  Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion
  • Day 07: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930 m/16,170 ft.) 5-6 hrs.
  • Day 08: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961 ft.) and hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,598 ft.) and back to Gorak Shep. 6-8 hrs.
  • Day 09: Trek from Gorak Shep to Kalapatthar (5,545 m/18,192 ft.) 2-3 hrs. & Helicopter fly back to Lukla (2,804 m/9,200 ft.) 35 min
  • Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu (1,320 m/4,330 ft.) 35 min. and Departure transfer.

 

  1. Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Annapurna base camp is the only one base camp which is very near from the capital city of Kathmandu. It only takes just a few days to reach in Annapurna base camp, which is situated at the altitude of 4130 m high. Annapurna base camp Trek is one of the traditional treks started from Nayapul. ABC trek is also known as the shortest and easiest base camp trek which is also surrounded by the 360 degrees of the mountains like Annapurna I(8,091m), Annapurna II, Gangapurna and many other higher mountains over 7000 m. Annapurna I also has the fatality rate of 40%.

Short itinerary For Annapurna base camp for 10 days Trek:

  • Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu 1,360m
  • Day 02: Early morning flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara 950m.
  • Day 03: Drive from Pokhara to NayaPul 1,100m and then start the trek Jhinu danda 1700m.
  • Day 04: Today we trek from Jhinu Danda via Chhomrong to the Donovan 2130m.
  • Day 05: Today the big day of the trek, Ascend through Donovan passing Machhapauchhare Base Camp 3720m to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m.
  • Day 06: Today our trek from the base camp to Sinwadanda 2340m.
  • Day 07: Trek from Sinwadanda passing via Landruk walking for 5-6 hours to Tolka 1700m.
  • Day 08: The last day of a trek from Tolkh to Dhampus 1050m and then back to Pokhara.
  • Day 09: Today after breakfast, drive a scenic route from Pokhara to Kathmandu valley.
  • Day 10: Final Departure.   

Annapurna Circuit Trek (starting point Lamjung)

Annapurna circuit trek is one of the long trekking of Nepal which includes the way of hidden former kingdom of Nepal also known as the town behind the Mountain. During Annapurna circuit trek we follow the world deepest George of Kali Gandaki and the foothills towards the world highest pass; Throngla Pass and World highest lake Tilicho lake.   1. Round Manaslu Trek (Starting point Arughat )

Manaslu circuit trek is one of the magic trek destinations in the Highest Himalayas of Nepal. Manaslu Trekking route is considered to be the best and one of the finest adventure destination for those people who are seeking for the life experience. All the adventure journey of this trek is under the beneath of the Mt.Manaslu(8,156m) which is the 8th highest mountain in the world.
Manaslu Trek is considered as classical in terms of the discovery and popularity.   • Day 14:  Dharamsala – Larkya La (5,160m/16,930ft) – Bimthang (3,720m/12,201ft), 12km, 7-9 hrs.
  • Day 15:  Bimthang – Gho (2,515m/8,250ft, 12km, 5-6 hrs.
  • Day 16:  Gho– Dharapani (1,920m/6,300ft)) 8km, 3-4 hrs.
  • Day 17:  Dharapani- Besi Sahar (760m/2,495ft) – Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft) 190 km 7-10 hrs drive.
  • Day 18:  Final departure.
  1.   Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang valley trek is another shot trek near from Kathmandu like Annapurna base camp. Langtang valley trek is one of the classical and oldest routes for trekking. The Langtang trek route follows the footsteps towards the Mt. Langtang(7,234m). It is the nearest trekking route towards the Himalayas from the city of Temple Kathmandu. Langtang valley trek is also a short trek about 7-8 days. During these Trekking days, you can enjoy, the warm welcome of Tamang People with their own culture. Langtang valley is also discovered many years ago like other trekking that is why this trek is also one of the classical treks.

Mr. Shiba Hari Rijal was born in the Dhading district of Nepal. He finishes his school level from Shree Bachhala devi higher secondary school in his own village. After finishing high school, he came to Kathmandu and join a college of Geography and travel/tourism; also join trekking. Firstly, he started his trekking as a porter, and then he became a guide. He used to work as a manager in 2 different companies. Because of his hard work, he is now the founder of his own company life Himalaya trekking.
