Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most visited, base camp trekking in Nepal for national and international trekkers. It is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary (ABC) trek which is a moderate and short base camp trek in Nepal.

Annapurna Base camp trekking is situated northern central part of Nepal and also inside the Annapurna conservation area at an altitude of 4130 m on the lap of the world’s 10th Highest Mountain Annapurna I. Annapurna base camp is surrounded by the majestic Himalayas like Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Machhapuchare, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Tent peak, and many other peaks.

day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and Check in

Welcome to Kathmandu Valley (1360m). Upon your arrival we assist you from international airport to our hotel. After a short refreshing rest we take you to an evening sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Explore the heritage sites and ancient architectural sites around. At evening enjoy dinner programs and rest overnight.

day 02 Early morning flight to Pokhara and drive to Banthati

Today, you will catch an early morning flight to Pokhara, a picturesque city known for its stunning views of the Himalayas and tranquil lakes. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you will drive to Banthati, a small village surrounded by lush forests and terraced fields. Take in the beautiful countryside scenery and get ready for the adventure ahead.

day 03 Trek from Banthati to Ghorepani

The trekking journey begins as you leave Banthati and hike towards Ghorepani. The trail takes you through enchanting rhododendron forests and charming villages, offering panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Ghorepani is a popular stop, where you can enjoy the hospitality of the locals and witness breathtaking sunsets over the Himalayas.

day 04 Trek from Ghorepani to Chhomroong

Today’s trek takes you to Chomrung, a picturesque Gurung village located in the heart of the Annapurna region. The trail ascends and descends through dense forests and terraced fields, giving you a glimpse of the traditional rural lifestyle. As you reach Chomrung, you’ll be greeted by the awe-inspiring view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli peaks.

day 05 Trek from Chhomroong to Dovan

Leaving Chhomroong, you’ll descend to the Chhomro Khola (river) and then begin the uphill climb towards Dovan. Along the way, you’ll cross suspension bridges, pass through lush bamboo forests, and catch glimpses of waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. Dovan, a small settlement, offers a serene atmosphere to relax and rejuvenate after the day’s trek.

day 06 Trek from Dovan to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC)

Today is an exhilarating day as you trek to the Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The trail winds through the rugged terrain, surrounded by towering peaks on all sides. As you reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp, also known as the “Fishtail Base Camp,” you’ll be awe-struck by the majestic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) peak.

Continuing your journey, you’ll reach the Annapurna Base Camp, where you’ll be surrounded by the mighty Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and other towering mountains.

day 07 Trek from ABC to Bamboo

After witnessing the glorious sunrise over the Annapurna massif, you’ll start your descent back towards Bamboo. The trek retraces some of the paths you took before, allowing you to revisit some of the breathtaking viewpoints and landscapes you encountered on the way up. Bamboo, a peaceful hamlet nestled amidst the greenery, offers a soothing place to rest and reflect on your incredible journey.

day 08 Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

Today’s trek takes you to Jhinu Danda, a charming village famous for its natural hot springs. day 09 Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

On the final leg of your trek, you’ll descend from Jhinu Danda to Nayapool. The trek concludes here, and you’ll bid farewell to your trekking crew. From Nayapool, a scenic drive will take you back to Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara, you can relax by the lakeside and celebrate the successful completion of your Annapurna adventure.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek - Essential Information

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Route

Our special 10 days Annapurna base camp trek itinerary starts with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara then a short drive to Nayapul. Upon arrival at the starting point of the trek, we trek through Banthanti and walk through the forests across several valleys, climbing up to Ghandruk, which would be the perfect spot for overnight stay.

Continuing our journey, we pass beautiful Chomrong village, where the cultural highlights are experienced, and village and further ascend through bamboo and Rhododendron forest.

The treks continued all the way through the Jhinu Danda- Dovan- Machhapuchare Base camp and finally arrive in an isolated valley of Annapurna base camp.

Arriving at the gate of Annapurna Sanctuary, which is actually a pass between spectacular peaks of Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. We could also see magical sunrise views over Annapurna Himalayas which would be a never seen experience.

Finally, after getting the heavenly experience at ABC we back through the trial descent to Sinwadanda and Jhinu natural hot springs and ends at Nayapul again. Besides the stunning mountain views, this trip offers you short sightseeing of the beautiful Pokhara valley and a drive back to Kathmandu.

Necessary Trekking Permit For The Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Before Annapurna base camp trekking in Nepal, you must be legal to trek inside the Annapurna conservation area. To trek to ABC you must get two permits, TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) card and the ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permit. Life Himalaya will arrange the necessary trek permit for the Annapurna Base camp Trek.

Who Can Go To The Annapurna base camp?

There is no restriction for the Annapurna Base Camp trek after. But before joining the trek you must have the 2 permits for the Annapurna base camp trekking.

To trek into Annapurna base camp you do not need any kind of technical training and experience. If you can walk 3-5 hours per day then you can easily reach the Annapurna Base camp.

Annapurna trek is one of the short and moderate treks of another base camp. So, for this trek, there are no age restrictions.

Health And Safety For The Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

As a General knowledge, everyone knows that before trekking you must be healthy. But in case of the unhealthy during the trek, our guide will inform us then we will consult with your insurance provider then we will rescue you by helicopter if necessary, from the point where you have a problem in health.

Many people are sick from the altitude sickness in high altitude Trek. In the Annapurna base camp trek, there is a minimum chance of altitude sickness, but prevention is better than cure so for prevention we must not eat non-veg and alcohol after 2,500 m altitude and drink three liters of water a day.

Unforgettable life experience We were extremely satisfied with our Everest Base Camp trek with Life Himalaya Trekking. From the moment we were picked up at the airport, everything was organized perfectly. Due to weather conditions, the company arranged a helicopter flight for us, which made the start of our adventure even more special. Our guide, Rabin, was exceptional. He was kind, caring, and looked after us every step of the way. Whenever we felt unwell, he made sure we were comfortable and helped us recover. His knowledge of the mountains, careful approach to acclimatization, and genuine care for our well-being allowed us to continue the journey safely. Most importantly, he treated us like family, making the entire trek feel like a trip with friends rather than a guided tour. Our porter, Arjun, was equally amazing. He was always cheerful, funny, and incredibly helpful. During acclimatization hikes and challenging moments, he even helped with our backpacks when we were struggling. Awesome experience with Life Himalayan I had a wonderful time trekking EBC. Birsha Rai was an awesome guide he made sure I had anything I needed. He made sure my accommodations were good and I had plenty of water and snacks for the trek. Dhan Kajl was my porter and he took extra care of my things my bag was always clean and dry when delivered to my room. He even carried my day pack the last stretch of EBC trek. Life Himalayan took care of me from the moment I landed and was without one bag to making sure I made all my helicopter connections. Someone was there every step of the way. 5 Stars! Life Himalaya Trekking gave us an amazing experience! We had the most wonderful guide, Jal Tamang. Not only did he provide amazing conversation, high spirits, and tons of great information about the Everest region, he went above and beyond when a member of our party got altitude sickness. He worked tirelessly to bring food & water to them during their hospital stay, but also coordinated their time in Lukla after they had had to descend. I still made it to Base Camp, and throughout our journey he made the entire experience unforgettable. The accommodations were also truly top notch, with the earlier tea houses offering hot showers, readily available charging, and even heating pads under the mattresses. Highly recommend, thank you Jal!

Lifetime Experience! Life Himalaya Trekking took great care of us. We wanted to do Everest Base Camp in as little time as possible and found this company. We found out they are family owned Sheba is the owner and his son Raj were both awesome. Sheba first started as a Sherpa, then became a guide and now owns his own company. Our guide Rabin was so kind to us! Rabin always went out of his way to take care of us every step of the way. Rabin also started as a Sherpa and now is a guide. I would highly recommend this company our shortened trip to Everest Base Camp from 10 to 7 days because of our tight schedule was a success and a trip of a life time that my good friend and I will remember the rest of our lives. What an amazing experience and a spacial thank you to Sheba, Raj, and our incredible guide Rabin for making it happen and bringing us back safe.

Submitting Mera Peak - thanks to Sagar and Robin for making it happen I had a truly wonderful 11 days trek that culminated in successfully summitting Mera Peak. My guides Sagar and Robin were outstanding. They built rapport with each hiker in the group and understood each persons capabilities. They walked with us every step of the way and were always on hand to make sure we safely crossed tricky and dangerous sections. They encouraged, entertained, and gave us moral support especially during the push to summit. At one point, the going got so tough that I was almost ready to turn back. Sagar gave me the much needed encouragement, confidence, and made sure I didn't give up. I couldn't have made it to the top without them. The views from the top were just spectacular and it was worth every bit of the effort.
