Mardi Himal Trekking - Essential Information
Mardi Himal Trekking Route
The trek starts at Dhampus after an hour of driving from Pokhara. There is a trail through the jungle, at first up then rolling on the top of a ridge, there is a section just over halfway where the trail drops steeply and then slowly gains height and the edge and into Forest Camp (2600m).
The trail is primarily quite steep, leaving Forest Camp, but soon gets less sheer as you again get upon the ridge. The trail leaves Low Camp again in the jungle, but the trees soon start to get smaller, and after about one hour, trekking broke out of the jungle and onto the open ridge with mighty views of Machhapuchhre ahead and Annapurna South.
Continuing trekking along the ridge for another few hours to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m) and returning to High Camp makes a long day, but there is also a viewpoint about halfway for an imaging view.
Afterwards, we return all the way down to low camp. When we arrive at Siding, we will descend back to Pokahra by jeep.
