Jiri to Island Peak Climbing - Essential Information

Besides the challenging Everest trek and island peak climbing, local culture is also a noticeable thing to experience. As we go up the more Buddhist and sherpa people we met. The more Buddhist monuments and praying flags we see. The daily life, tradition, and culture of the Sherpa people are also taking part to attract this island peak climbing.

Along the way we passed through the different monasteries, among them, Tengboche Monastery is the oldest one. In which, monks and Lamas are praying and doing ritual activities all day long. We also take apart for some minutes in a ritual ceremony, because people believe that taking part in such activity will give you strength and power top achieve what you desire. It releases all your tiredness and purifies your soul. So Buddhism is another beautiful thing to experience.

Along the trek to island peak climbing from Jiri, we pass through different major towns like Jiri, Phakding, NamcheBazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche. Every town is full of the sherpa people and culture but among them, Namche Bazar has huge things that you’ll be amazed to know.

Namche Bazaar is situated at a height of 3540 m from sea level. However, It offers you everything you need. From ATM to Coffee shop, equipment shop and a lot more. Namche Bazaar is the main hub for the sherpa people, so it is also referred to as the capital of the Sherpa. On the day of acclimatization day, you’ll visit the Hilary mountain museum, which has all the history of the climbers and sherpa people.

Our Trek begins from the drive from Kathmandu to Shivalaya through Jiri. From there, we follow the footsteps of legends and start ascending towards the Everest region. It’ll take 8 days to reach Namche Bazar. Where we will have an acclimatization day. On this day we will explore all of the capital of Sherpa people. After a rest day at Namche, we will follow the Khumbu river and climb a small hill to reach Tengboche.

You can see the mesmerizing view of Mighty Everest, Amadablam, Pumori, Lhotse and so on. Passing through the valley of the mountains with small bushes, Dingboche we reach Chhukung. After here we will start climbing, by taking overnight in Island peak Base camp. After summiting, we will head towards Lukla through Monjo, Pangboche, Phakding, Jorsalle, from where we will fly to Kathmandu.

I completed the Manaslu Circuit with Saugat and Aunil, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The trek was breathtaking, the organization was perfect, and the views were simply stunning. Saugat’s knowledge, professionalism, and expertise as a guide, together with Aunil’s help, kindness, and support as a porter, made the whole experience even more special. A life changing experience! Milan and Bhim were the best guide and porter for our very first trek in the Himalayas. Thanks to Life Himalaya Trekking, my husband and I were able to realize a dream. From the moment of organizing from Italy, Shiba proved to be extremely available and quick in communications. And, once here, we were able to immediately verify how efficient the entire team that makes up the company is. Shiba is infinitely sweet and friendly; he pampered us, guiding us through all the organizational aspects of our trip, from the trek to Everest Base Camp to cultural visits in Kathmandu and surroundings, covering all types of transportation we needed. We were extremely satisfied with our Everest Base Camp trek with Life Himalaya Trekking. From the moment we were picked up at the airport, everything was organized perfectly. Due to weather conditions, the company arranged a helicopter flight for us, which made the start of our adventure even more special. Our guide, Rabin, was exceptional. He was kind, caring, and looked after us every step of the way. Whenever we felt unwell, he made sure we were comfortable and helped us recover. His knowledge of the mountains, careful approach to acclimatization, and genuine care for our well-being allowed us to continue the journey safely. Most importantly, he treated us like family, making the entire trek feel like a trip with friends rather than a guided tour. Our porter, Arjun, was equally amazing. He was always cheerful, funny, and incredibly helpful. During acclimatization hikes and challenging moments, he even helped with our backpacks when we were struggling. His positive attitude made every day more enjoyable. Both Rabin and Arjun are true gems and a huge asset to the company. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us. I had a wonderful time trekking EBC. Birsha Rai was an awesome guide he made sure I had anything I needed. He made sure my accommodations were good and I had plenty of water and snacks for the trek. Dhan Kajl was my porter and he took extra care of my things my bag was always clean and dry when delivered to my room. He even carried my day pack the last stretch of EBC trek. Life Himalayan took care of me from the moment I landed and was without one bag to making sure I made all my helicopter connections. Someone was there every step of the way. Life Himalaya Trekking gave us an amazing experience! We had the most wonderful guide, Jal Tamang. Not only did he provide amazing conversation, high spirits, and tons of great information about the Everest region, he went above and beyond when a member of our party got altitude sickness. He worked tirelessly to bring food & water to them during their hospital stay, but also coordinated their time in Lukla after they had had to descend. I still made it to Base Camp, and throughout our journey he made the entire experience unforgettable. The accommodations were also truly top notch, with the earlier tea houses offering hot showers, readily available charging, and even heating pads under the mattresses. What a beautiful experience! Life Himalaya trekking and their team are truly great. Our guide Rabin Ray is a mountain professional. He took great care of us throughout the journey. Our porter Tik as well, always there to help us. Shiba, the owner, is a professional and he makes sure to meet us and ensure that everything goes well before our departure.
