Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek - Essential Information

Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek – Best Season

The best season for the helicopter ride to Everest Base Camp is spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). During this period, the weather is mild, there are fewer chances of rain or snowfall which makes it an ideal time for trekking. This time of year offers a perfect combination of good weather and visibility, as well as vibrant landscapes that make this trek an unforgettable experience.

At this time, there are clear skies and pleasant temperatures that make it more comfortable for trekking. It is also a good time to appreciate the beauty of nature and witness the stunning views at higher elevations. The Everest trekking doesn’t require any previous trekking experience but we recommend a good level of physical fitness. However, if you want to experience cold weather with pouring snow, then winter is also an option.

Food and drinking water

The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek provides travelers with delicious food and drinking water suitable to their preferences throughout their trek. Upon arrival at hotels travelers can expect to feast on authentic Nepalese cuisine and many continental foods as well as enjoy complimentary refreshments. All the meals, snacks, and drinks provided are fresh and organic. Food will be served three times a day as per Itinerary(Breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

In addition, trekkers will have access to purified drinking water available at all times on their journey. It is important to stay hydrated while trekking and many rest stops will be provided a chance to eat a snack or meal. You will also have access to hot drinks and snacks throughout your journey.

Altitude sickness

It is possible that you will be experiencing altitude sickness when undertaking a helicopter trek to Everest Base Camp. Altitude sickness occurs when ascending to higher altitudes too quickly, causing symptoms such as headache, fatigue, nausea, and shortness of breath. Therefore, it is important to acclimatize correctly with shorter treks and prepare for the ascent in order to help avoid altitude sickness. Upon need, we also provide medications to trekkers. Hence, with our Proper Itinerary and Guidance, we assure your safety.

Weather and Temperatures

During this trek, you will be able to witness stunning views during the day and in clear weather, but keep in mind that the climate can be unpredictable at high altitudes. The temperature while hiking can range from -10°C to 15°C even during peak season (March-May) and night temperatures drop significantly lower than that. Winds and storms can also occur during different times of the year, making severe weather conditions a factor to consider when planning your trip.

The weather and temperature during an Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek in autumn (Sep-Nov) are typically quite mild. The days are usually sunny and pleasant, though temperatures can drop quickly at night due to the high altitude. On average, daytime temperatures generally range from 17 – 22°C (63-72°F) while nights may experience freezing point temperatures of zero. However, be prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions and chilly nights.

    Amazing from start to finish

Life Himalaya provided outstanding service from start to finish!

Shiva (the owner) communicated with us perfectly in the weeks in the lead up to the trek over email, we had so many questions that he answered quickly and clearly.

We attended the EBC short trek which included the chopper down at the end – this was the only tour company out there that we could find offering a helicopter return flight instead of the trek back down and it is 100% worth it! The guide and porters were extremely professional, keeping us updated each day on what to expect and attending to our every need at night, always concerned to make sure we were not showing signs of altitude sickness.

Additionally, Keiran (our guide) passed on lots of interesting information about Nepal and the trail as we advanced to base camp, and in the evenings every one of the staff were extremely happy to hang out with us clients and tell us about their experiences which added a lovely personal touch.

At the end of the trek, the great service continued with Shiva meeting us to confirm our final hotel bookings and followed up with a thoughtful debrief and catch up.

I whole-heartedly recommend “Life Himalaya Trekking” to clients who are seeking the best service, real care and a whole lot of fun – Excellent value for money.

10 day Everest base camp trek with helicopter return

If you are looking for quality EBC trek with best tea houses and helicopter return to Kathmandu then this is the one for you, without the helicopter we would of had to waited on weather both end of our trip. We met people who had been stuck for 4 days waiting on plane. Shiba and his team set the standard for quality and knowledge. All 13 in our group made it to base camp with the support of our the guides and porters . Very enjoyable and achievable in the 10 days as they work a system of trek high and sleep low that made all the difference. Great company and they heavily support the local community . I highly recommend booking direct with life Himalaya trekking .

Thank you Shiba great 2 weeks
