Namche is a very beautiful place which is surrounded by the mountains and is also a gateway to the Everest Region. It has a stunning view of Kongde Ri (6,187 meters) to the west and Thamserku (6,823 meters) to the south. There are lots of hotels main target to provide a meal and accommodation for the trekkers. It has three small museums, a stupa, a historical monastery, several bakeries, several shopping centers, modern communication facilities, and many well-stocked Story’s to see at Namche Bazar.
At the day of acclimatization, you can hike up to Syangboche hill (Everest view hotel 3,880 meters). It is one of the best places to see a panoramic view of so many mountains together like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde RI, Tabuche peak (unclimbed mountain) and many more spectacular scenarios.
You can visit Khumjung village (3,790 meters). Khumjung is a historical village has produced lots of professional mountain climbing Sherpas. At the same time, you can visit a school which is running through Sir Edmond Hillary’s foundation and Yetis scalp inside the old monastery.
The Trekkers are able to visit Thame village during their stay at Namche Bazaar. It is a fantastic place to explore and it is about 9.7 k.m. far way up from Namche located on the elevation of 3865 meters from sea level. It is a beautiful village of Sherpa people where you can see a beautiful piece of Tibetan art used to make monastery on top of Thame village. The monastery is among the oldest monastery in Khumbu region.
These were the last year-round villages on the salt trading route that exists between Tibet and Nepal. It is a home of many famous Sherpa mountaineering like Apa Sherpa who holds the world record of summit Mt. Everest for 21 times. It was also a childhood home of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa (who was first Everest summiteers with Sir Edmond Hillary in 1953). The trail from Thame goes all the way to three high passes trek in Khumbu region.
Everest base camp trek, it is a truly amazing journey through Himalaya. During your trek, there is a lot of subject of a safety issue. One of a very important subject is about high altitude sickness. As you know, normally high altitude does start from 3000mtr/9842ft. regarding the source of research suggest that your body will need time to adjust with new climate and lack of oxygen on high altitude. Therefore it is always better to stay 2 overnight at Namche Bazar for acclimatizing. If you fail to acclimatize well around Namche you will really struggle on high altitude.
Because of such reason we recommend you to donot rush during your everest trek.
