The best alternative airport to get to Lukla during the Kathmandu airport maintenance 1st October to 31 November
Trekkers, who are trekking in October-December, 2019 to Everest base camp or any Everest region Trek, all of them must choose an alternative way to get in Lukla. Due to the Kathmandu international airport taxiway maintenance, The Airport will close from 1st September to 31st December 2019 from 10:30 PM night to 6:30 AM. For the alternative flight to lukla, you could take a Helicopter flight (Recommended) or take a flight from Ramecha

01) Make Sure your flight is booked from Manthali Airport (Ramechap) to Lukla and Vice-Versa.
Air traffic is huge in Kathmandu airport, due to that our government decides to make Lukla flight from Ramechhap, to reduce the air traffic in Kathmandu and to make the secure flight to Lukla. The Best Way to make a successful trek to Everest Region, you should have 1 or 2 extra holidays. For the flying from Ramechap, you have to take an early morning jeep or car which only takes 03-04 hours drive from Kathmandu. From Manthali, it is easy to fly to Lukla.
Last spring season almost flights are from Ramechap to Lukla airport. Now following the previous record about the flexibility and no disturbance in flights due to the air traffic, the government again releases notice to fly Lukla from Rameshap which is the best way to avoid air traffic and get to Lukla on time. trekkers don’t have to wait multiple hours at the Kathmandu airport due to bad weather or an international air traffic.

02) Pay a bit more on flight ticket and take a helicopter flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and Lukla to Kathmandu!!
Driving from Kathmandu to Ramechhap with jeep, van, the bus will take 04 to 04 hours which is 135Km and flight ticket to Lukla 149$ and for the transportation, you have to pay 200$ in total.
You have to pay 200-350 USD extra than the ticket price to get Helicopter Flight. It saves time, So stress, more secure and guaranteed flight*.
