You will pass by the picturesque countryside of Nepal alongside the fast-flowing river and green hills. Upon reaching Chamje, your trek for the Annapurna Circuit Trek will begin.

The trail begins to ascend and descend through forest trails. The trail from Chame starts to become steep and rocky. It also passes through conifer forests and crosses several wooden cantilever bridges to reach Lower Pisang. You will gradually follow the Marsyangdi River and head towards Upper Pisang via Geru. As you move forward, you will see a change in the scenery as the landscape becomes more barren. You will also cross the biggest monastery in the Manang district, the Barge Monastery. From here, you can choose an alternative trail to reach Manang.

After reaching Manang, you will take an acclimatization day. It is crucial to allow your body to adjust to the growing altitude to minimize the risk of altitude sickness. You will trek from Manang on a steep trail towards Tenki, leaving Marsyangdi Valley. The trail then begins to follow northwards of Jarsang Khola, crossing a wooden bridge and passing ancient mani walls to reach Yak Kharka. From here, you will make your way to reach the high camp at Thorang Phedi.

The hardest part of the trek is hiking from Thorang Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass, the highest point. The trail to the mountain pass has steep ascends and rocky terrain, which is physically demanding. Once you reach the top, magnificent views of the mountains will greet you. Then, you will descend to the holy pilgrimage site of Muktinath. You will visit the sacred Muktinath Temple and head towards Jomsom. En route, you will come across the Kagbeni Village, inhabited by locals of Tibetan origin. From Jomsom, you will take a 25-minute flight to Pokhara and drive back to Kathmandu.

Autumn season (September to November)

Autumn is the peak season for trekking in Nepal and the Annapurna Circuit. The weather is crisp and clear, with favorable temperatures ranging from around 4 to 20°C.
