The Langtang Valley and Yala Peak Climbing Trek is an enjoyable and short expedition to the Himalayas. The Yala peak stands at 5,720m and is a formidable summit that offers scenic views and adventure. It is the closest climbing expedition to Kathamandu.
This journey will take you to the depths of the Langtang Region, allowing you to soak up the richness of its vast climatic zones. The north-central region of the Himalayas exudes a mixture of Buddhist and Tibetan cultures. The Langtang region also houses Tamang Villages that display unique heritage and lifestyles.
This Langtang Valley and Yala Peak Climbing Trek route follows a natural ascension through a scenic trail into the Langtang region. The path provides an adventurous experience of the lush green Rhododendron Forests and alpine meadows.
As the route leads to Langtang National Park, you’ll encounter unique flora and fauna. Endless natural phenomena will lead you to the summit of this expedition. You’ll have a scenic view of massive mountain ranges like Langtang Lirung (7246m) and Lenpo Gang (7083m).
You will reach an astounding 5,720m altitude during this 16-day trek, where you’ll see other enormous mountain ranges.
We recommend you take this journey during October-December and March-May to explore its full potential. You’ll have the best available accommodation and full board meals throughout your trek, providing a luxurious feel.

Arrival at Kathmandu and Transfer to your Hotel
We will escort you to your hotel upon your arrival. You can roam around the valley and take part in sightseeing until dinner. You’ll be staying overnight in Kathmandu before starting the expedition.

Half day sightseeing and world heritage sites tour around Kathmandu city. Prepare for the trek. Rest overnight.

On the second day, you’ll take a sightseeing tour around all the World Heritage Sites certified by UNESCO. You’ll have the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the expedition.

Scenic drive from Kathmandu all the way to Syabrubesi
A scenic ride from Kathmandu Valley will take us to Syarbubesi. It is the Gateway to Langtang and houses beautiful hills and rural settlements. You can roam around the vicinity where you’ll be staying overnight.

trek from Syabru besi all the way to Changdam
As our trek begins, we’ll trek from Syarbubesi to Changdam. It is a scenic village that houses alpine meadows and an authentic Lama lifestyle. We’ll stay overnight in Changdam before continuing to Ghobre Tabela.

We’ll move from Changdam to a scenic route that leads to Ghodatabela. It is a mesmerizing location with luminous snow surrounding the woods. The morning sun will reveal a hypnotizing view of the Himalayas, where we’ll stay overnight.

trek from Ghore Tabela all the way to Langtang
On the sixth day, we’ll trek from Ghodatabela to the fascinating village of Langtang. After short breaks and a lot of walking, we’ll reach Langtang via a snow and illuminating path.
You’ll come across old Buddhist Monasteries and Mani Walls, filled with cultural richness. We’ll be entering the Langtang National Park territory, where you might find some rare birds and animals. After a long day of walking, we’ll stay overnight at a cozy lodge.

Trek from Langtang village to Kyanjin GompaTrek from Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa

After breakfast at Langtang Village, we’ll trek through several villages while coming across beautiful streams and yak meadows. You’ll walk through a route rich in cultural and heritage importance.
There are yaks, water mills, prayer flags, Mani walls, and carvings along the way to Kyanjin Gompa. We’ll stay overnight at a cozy teahouse.

Rest and acclimatization day at Kyanjing
To ensure proper acclimatization, we’ll rest for a day and roam around Kyanjin Gompa. Later in the day, our experienced climbing guides will talk you through all the gear and give you a short climbing lesson. We’ll stay overnight at Kyanjin Gompa and prepare for our ascension toward Yala Peak Base Camp.

trek from Kyanjing all the way to Yala Peak Base Camp
After breakfast, we’ll ascend toward the Yala Peak Base Camp. A pleasant snowy trail will lead us to the Yala Peak Base Camp. We’ll do more pre-climbing training before summiting the Yala Peak the next day and camp overnight.

Base camp all the way to Yala Peak summit
After breakfast, we’ll prepare for a long and adventurous day. An early start will take us toward a snowy path, trekking across rocky steps, glaciers, and ridges. After trekking and climbing, we’ll reach the summit of our destination.
We’ll be standing at an altitude of 5,530m, giving us views of massive mountain ranges. After our time at the top, we’ll trek back down to the base camp, where we’ll stay overnight.

Contingency day for summit attempt or rest day at Base Camp
We have kept an extra day in the itinerary in case of any misfortune. In case of bad weather conditions on the previous day, we’ll summit the peak today. We can use this day to roam around the base camp if the expedition goes as planned.

Trek from Base Camp to Kyanjin Gompa
We’ll start descending from the base camp back to Kyanjin Gompa. We’ll follow the same route as before to the Gompa. After staying overnight at a teahouse, we’ll continue descending.

We’ll continue descending towards Changdam. As the path is easy and enjoyable, we won’t stop at Ghodatablea. We’ll have a few short breaks on the way down to Changdam, where we’ll stay overnight.

Today we trek down from Changdam all the way to Syabrubesi
After breakfast at Changdam, we’ll trek back to Syarbubesi. We’ll walk across the same alpine meadows and Lama Villages to get back to the Gateway of Langtang Valley. After a long day, we’ll rest overnight at Syarbubesi.

Early morning scenic drive back to Kathmandu
As we approach the final days of the expedition, we’ll drive back to Kathmandu from Syarbubesi in a cozy jeep. You can spend your leisure time roaming and exploring the city before resting overnight at a hotel.

Best Seasons For Langtang Valley And Yala Peak Climbing
We recommend the months of October-December and March-May for a quality experience. During that time, the weather is favorable, and the views are mesmerizing and illuminating. The climbing and trekking experience is significantly better during these seasons. It doesn’t mean this adventure isn’t suitable for other seasons.
Langtang Valley and Yala Peak Climbing Difficulty
The Yala Peak Climbing expedition doesn’t require previous mountaineering experience. It is an easy climb without obstacles and interference. Our climbing guides will teach you everything you need to know about your equipment. However, we advise you to come physically and mentally prepared.
Climbing Guides and Equipment
Our climbing guides are experienced and hold an official government license. As they have experienced every season and condition, you can rely on them to take you to the summit at any time of the year as long as it’s possible. However, they won’t provide any personal equipment.
