Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour-Essential Information
Weather and Best Season
The two major trekking seasons of the Everest region have clear skies and moderate temperatures. Spring (March-May) or autumn (late September- December) is the most appropriate season when an Everest-Himalaya luxury tour can be done.
These are the months that have stable weather conditions, there is good visibility of the mountains, and the weather will be favorable for trekking.
The rhododendron flowers will be blooming in the trails during spring, and autumn will come with fresh air and twinkling clear skies of Everest. The daytime in Namche and Syangboche is moderate (5°C to 15°C), but at night it can go down to freezing at high altitude.
Monsoon summer (June-August) is avoided because of downpour and slippery roadways, and winter (December-February) is very cold, and there is snow at the higher altitudes. It is always best to plan your trip during the best seasons so as to experience the best mountain views as well as enjoy your trip.
Is it a beginner-friendly trip?
Yes – this is a perfect and easygoing Himalaya trek suitable for beginners and all age travelers with a moderate level of fitness. The difficulty in this Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour is easy to moderate. It is beginner-friendly, and the hiking days are shorter (3-5 hours) and include sufficient rest.
No pre-trekking experience is required, just good physical fitness and the capacity to walk slowly. You will have our guides the whole way. This trip is an example of how Himalaya luxury tours can open the Everest region to almost any person.
Food & Drink
During the Everest Himalaya luxury tour, you will experience high-quality food and beverages. Your luxury hotel in Kathmandu serves a good variety of food at breakfast, and during dinner, you have a tempting Nepali and International cuisine. You will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the best lodges (including the Everest View Hotel) during the trek.
There will be a combination of traditional Sherpa and Nepali dishes (such as momos, dal bhat, fresh vegetables) and western (pasta, soup, eggs, etc.).
Even though these Himalaya luxury tours take place in remote mountains, the lodges still provide fresh, hygienic, and hearty meals that will provide you with plenty of energy to trek. At each stop, hot tea and coffee are served, and evenings tend to end with a warm beverage by the lodge fireplace.
In the mountains, we suggest that you drink boiled or purified water (supplied by the lodges) to keep yourself hydrated and avoid single-use plastics. All in all, it will be a healthy and satisfying experience with plenty of nourishment and appropriate hydration.
Altitude Sickness
Altitude sickness or Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) frequently occurs over 2,500 m, but we will design this itinerary to do our best to eliminate this threat.
Our Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour has a gradual ascending profile, and we do not have too much in altitude gains in a day, and we have a day of acclimatization so that your body can adapt.
The maximum point of sleep during the trek is approximately 3,880 m at the Everest View Hotel. The guides will be specially trained in altitude awareness and will check on your well-being.
Typical changes of mild AMS are headache, tiredness, or insomnia. Whatever symptoms you are having, make your guide aware of them, and in most cases, a rest or a downgrade will help you.
We would advise you to hydrate, not to consume alcohol, and to hike slowly. If you experience severe altitude symptoms, we can either descend immediately or evacuate by helicopter.
But with the wise itinerary and assistance, a majority of these luxury tour attendants manage to cope with the altitude and appreciate the Himalayas without concerns.
Permits & Regulations
When trekking in the Everest region, a few permits are required, although there is nothing to worry about as we do all the permit arrangements on your behalf.
The main permit needed is the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit since the trail is entering a reserved zone. We also need to get the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality entrance permit for the local area.
These licenses contribute towards conservation and local infrastructure. These will be settled on your behalf by our team during the commencement of the Everest Himalaya luxury tour.
You should also keep your passport with you during the trek, as it will be used in case of checkpoints. We maintain complete adherence to all rules, such as appropriate waste disposal and the culture of the locals.
You are going to be hiking with skilled guides who are well-trained in the park regulations, trail etiquette, and safety measures. We may contribute to the conservation of the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Everest region to enable the generations to enjoy the Himalaya luxury tours.
Health & Safety
Health and safety are the two important things on this tour. We will schedule the itinerary to avoid overstraining and give good acclimatization. All of our guides are first-aid trained and bring simple first aid kits with the group. Our meals and accommodation hygiene is high and minimizes the chances of diseases.
In the Everest Himalaya luxury tour, you have a guide and support crew to take care of you- they will ensure you drink adequate water, use sunscreen, and dress suitably in changing weather.
The trails on this route are well-used and generally in good condition, though you still need to watch your step on steeper or uneven sections and go at your own pace.
We make frequent visits to all guests to inquire about their comfort. Emergency (in case of extreme altitude sickness or injury) can be evacuated by helicopter in an unforeseen situation.
We strongly suggest thorough travel insurance (with high-altitude trekking and helicopter rescue) as extra insurance. Through adequate precaution and our trained staff, you can rest up and enjoy your trek to the fullest, knowing that you are in safe hands.
We have a history of safely conducting Himalaya luxury tours so that you can leave the organization to enjoy the trip.
Attractions
This is a luxury tour that is full of memorable attractions, both natural and cultural. Mount Everest is clearly the most popular sight in the Everest region, as you will see the tallest mountain in the world with your eyes from the Namche Bazaar, Syangboche, and even your hotel window! Other features that are high in the trek are the Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, alongside Thamserku to form a beautiful Himalayan skyline.
The walk is also a good opportunity to have a glimpse of the Sherpa culture. You will go to monasteries (such as the one in Khumjung), and there you will be able to observe the practices of Tibetan Buddhism, and in such places you might see the popular yeti scalp relic.
The welcoming locals you find in the villages and lodges are part of the trip; their smile, generosity, and culture are indeed heartfelt.
Moreover, the scenery along the trail of Sagarmatha National Park is exquisite and includes rhododendron forests, raging rivers with suspension bridges, and possibly even wildlife (musk deer or Himalayan tahr).
In Kathmandu, the sightseeing tour will lead you to the historic world heritage sites. You will be amazed by the huge Boudhanath Stupa, the holiest Pashupatinath Temple, and the elegant palaces and temples in Durbar Square. These sites give a good understanding of the culture of Nepal.
The Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour has a highlight every single day, be it a natural wonder or a cultural treasure, and the whole trip becomes a set of unbelievable memories.
Money and Extra Costs
In this Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour, the package includes most of the key costs on your Everest Himalaya luxury tour. All of your flights, lodges, and the majority of meals, permits, guides, and porters are included, so you do not need to think about significant expenditures as soon as the trip commences. Nevertheless, carrying some additional money to spend personally is also a good idea.
There are often additional costs like beverages like soft drinks, bottled juices, or even specialty coffees, because this is not always part of the package.
You can also consider purchasing snacks on the way, little souvenirs, or local handicrafts in Namche Bazaar or Kathmandu.
Even in case you intend to have a spa time at your hotel, a massage, or participate in optional activities in Kathmandu, they will be extra expenses as well.
Other tourists prefer to purchase small gifts in the local stores of the mountain villages in order to give back to the community. It will not be compulsory to tip your guide, porters, and drivers at the end of the tour, but this is a nice and usual gesture.
We will advise you to carry along a few Nepali rupees on the trek since a number of mountain lodges do not accept card payments.
There are ATMs in Kathmandu and at Namche Bazaar, although these are not always reliable, and therefore it is prudent to do your withdrawals in Kathmandu.
It is better to have a balance of big and small notes to be able to purchase something every day. A little planning will leave you with everything required to make your trip smooth and comfortable.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly suggested for any person going on our Himalaya luxury tours. Although we are very safety-conscious, there is a fair level of risk when traveling in remote mountainous areas, and an excellent insurance policy gives the much-needed protection and comfort.
Travel insurance: at least, the high-altitude trekking (up to about 4,000 m) should be covered by your travel insurance with emergency evacuation via helicopter.
This will guarantee that in case you become ill or get hurt in the Everest area, you are rescued promptly without the heavy expenses. The insurance must also cover trip cancellations or interruptions, lost luggage, and medical care.
You should buy your policy in your home country and travel with it because the local trekking insurance coverage is minimal for foreigners. The awareness of having such a safety net will enable you to enjoy the adventure to the fullest without fears that there can be any unexpected occurrences.
Language & Communication
The official language in Nepal is Nepali; however, communication is not an issue on the Everest Himalaya luxury tour. Our guides and staff are fluent in English and also in the Sherpa local language.
Similarly, in the Everest area, most of the lodge owners and people you come across on the trail do speak basic English as a result of their years of interaction with trekkers.
It can be pleasant to learn some Nepali or Sherpa greetings (such as Namaste (Hello)), but it is not mandatory. You will get access to the internet and phone networks at different points to communicate with home.
Wi-Fi and a strong phone signal are available in Kathmandu at your hotel. There is cell phone coverage (Nepal Telecom or Ncell) in the lower parts and Namche Bazaar during the trek.
In certain villages, including Everest View Hotel, Wi-Fi services (like Everest Link) are provided at a fee so you can send messages or updates about your Himalaya luxury tour experience.
Remember that the signal might be slow in the hills, and embrace the digital detox as the signal goes dead – it’s all part of the remote experience.
Internet, Charging Facilities, and Mobile Network
Although the Everest area is remote, you will still find a means of connectivity and charging your devices. The trail has mobile network coverage up to Namche Bazaar and in some cases beyond, particularly when you use a Nepal Telecom (NTC) SIM card.
Luxury lodges have internet, and the Everest View Hotel has internet, typically through Wi-Fi hotspots or satellite internet (a little usage charge may be charged).
You will have time to check your email or post pictures of your Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour when you are off. Concerning charging your devices, the lodges on this luxury trek are powered with electricity.
You can plug your phone, camera, and other devices into your room in Namche and at the Everest View Hotel since these luxurious places have plenty of power points.
We will suggest a travel adapter (Type C and D plugs, 220 V, used in Nepal) and maybe a power bank to use during the day.
On the whole, it is possible to stay connected and feel comfortable, although we also advise you to disconnect sometimes and have a full experience of the nature that surrounds you.
FAQs For Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour
When is the best time to do this Everest luxury tour?
Most people like to go in spring or autumn. Spring is from March to May and everything looks fresh and bright. Autumn starts around late September and goes on until December, and the skies are usually very clear.
Is this trek hard? Do I need to be experienced?
Not really. You do not need to be a strong trekker or have any special experience. The walking days are short and relaxed, and we take our time. As long as you can walk a few hours a day at an easy pace, you should be fine. The guides walk with you, keep an eye on you, and help whenever you need a break.
What kind of rooms and food should I expect?
In Kathmandu, you’ll stay in a nice hotel with all the comforts you expect. On the trail, the lodges are some of the best in the region, and Everest View Hotel is a highlight for most people. The food is simple but tasty — things like soups, dal bhat, vegetables, eggs, pasta, and sometimes Sherpa dishes.
How high do we go, and should I worry about altitude?
The highest point where you sleep is around 3,880 meters at the Everest View Hotel. This is not extremely high, but it is high enough that we take things slowly. You get a full day to acclimatize in Namche, and the guides check on you often.
If you ever feel uncomfortable, you can rest or go back down a bit. Serious altitude problems are rare on this itinerary, but we still stay prepared.
What should I bring with me to Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour?
Pack light and concentrate on comfort. Pack clothes that can be layered, warm-ups in the evenings, a hat and gloves, sun protection, and hard-soled walking shoes. Bring personal medicines (in case you need to take some). You have a duffel bag to carry on the walk, and you can leave a surplus at your hotel in Kathmandu.
Are the flights safe?
Lukla flight is short, and those who fly there are pilots who fly on a daily basis. They are familiar with the route and the weather. Another thing is that we do not fly unless the weather is good. Sometimes flights can be delayed due to weather, and we adjust the itinerary accordingly to keep your trip safe and comfortable. There is also the helicopter ride, which involves experienced pilots.
Will I be able to charge my phone or use Wi-Fi?
Yes, you will. Kathmandu has a good network and Wi-Fi. In the mountains, the luxury lodges have electricity and places to charge your devices. Wi-Fi exists in places like Namche and the Everest View Hotel, though it can be slow. You’ll be able to message home or post photos, but the connection may come and go.
Do I really need travel insurance?
Yes, it must include walking a distance of up to approximately four thousand meters and have a helicopter rescue. It is also useful when it includes things such as delays or lost bags. With insurance, you do not have to be worried about the situational cases.
What permits do I need in Everest Himalaya Luxury Tour?
This area requires two types of permits: the Sagarmatha National Park permit and the Khumbu local permit. You do not have to arrange anything yourself. We do the permit preparation and your guide brings them to the trek.
Do people tip the team?
Tipping is not compulsory, but most travelers choose to tip at the end because the guides and porters work very hard. You can give whatever amount feels right for you. Even a small gesture is appreciated.
