Weather and Best Season
The Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga Trek has different weather in each season, so choosing the right time will give you a more comfortable experience. Spring (March-May) and autumn (October-November) are the best times of the year. You will have a pleasant day in the spring with fresh air and rhododendron flowers.
You can enjoy clear weather and cool air, and beautiful mountainous scenery in autumn after summer rains. The temperatures during the day in these seasons tend to range between fifteen and twenty-five degrees. The nights are a bit colder, ranging between five and ten degrees.
This trek can also be done during winter or monsoons, provided that you are prepared. At night, it is cold, but during the day, it is clear. Monsoon is green and warm; however, rain and clouds can restrain sight. The trek is fun in any season with the appropriate clothes and instructions.
Is this trip beginner-friendly?
This trek is user-friendly and accessible to the majority of people with moderate fitness. It will be an easy and slow trek along easy tracks and numerous opportunities to take a break. The peaks of the trek are approximately two thousand three hundred metres, which means that you will not be experiencing difficulties associated with the high level of altitude.
The work week consists of four to seven hours of light exercise hiking in the forest, village, and open hill. Your guide will ensure that you do not go too fast. Past trekking or yoga experience is not necessary to participate in this Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga Trek. The yoga sessions will be beneficial in relaxing sore muscles and enhancing breathing.
To make the trek even more comfortable, make little hikes at home prior to coming. This is a great trek to do with first-time trekkers due to the presence of friendly guides and a non-strenuous trail.
Food and Drink
You will have plain, fresh, and warm food at the tea houses and lodges during the trek. Breakfast is usually made of porridge, eggs, toast, or jam on chapati.
Lunch and dinner will be served with dal bhat, noodles, fried rice, soup, or momos. Dal bhat is very suggested as it is healthy and it provides good energy for trekking. Your hotel will have more options in Nagarkot, and some of the continental food will also be available.
Boiled or purified water will keep you very well hydrated, and this will be available at the lodges during your Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga Trek. Hot beverages such as tea, coffee, or ginger tea are readily available and quite cozy.
During the trek, it is preferable to avoid alcohol, which will dehydrate you. In case of any dietary requirement, please inform us prior to the event so that we can make appropriate arrangements on your behalf.
Altitude Sickness
The positive aspect is that altitude sickness is not a significant issue in the Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga Trek. The whole trip will be under two thousand four hundred metres, which is safe for the majority of people.
The elevation sickness normally begins at much higher altitudes, and thus, you will be trekking in a comfortable state. And yet, it is also essential to listen to the body. Slower walks, sufficient water consumption, and proper rest will help you stay healthy.
Your guide will monitor you and will see whether you experience any discomfort. Should you experience any light symptoms such as headache or tiredness, a rest will usually help. You can easily go back to Kathmandu at a low altitude in very rare cases. And with ease and gradual motion, you shall finish the journey without trouble.
Permits and Regulations
To do the Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga trek, you will require a national park entry permit to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. As part of the trek, our team will take care of it before the trek starts, resulting in you not having to worry about paperwork.
A TIMS card might also be required, based on new tourism board regulations. We will do all the necessary permits and registrations on your behalf since you will be trekking with an official guide.
You will have to have simple rules in the trek. Do not litter, follow the primary trail, and be considerate of the wildlife within the national park.
You must dress in a simple way and request permission to take photos of the locals before doing this when visiting villages. By following these tips, you contribute to preserving nature and aiding the local communities that you explore.
Health and Safety
Health and safety are highly valued during the trek. Although the path is not difficult, it is good to loosen your body up by hiking short distances before you come.
In the journey, never ignore what your guide tells you because he has knowledge of the path and the weather conditions around. Strolling, resting, and making sure that you drink plenty of water will keep you comfortable. Daily yoga classes are also beneficial in terms of muscle flexibility and relaxation.
Your guide will have a simple first aid kit to address minor problems such as blisters or other minor injuries. Any personal medication is to be brought. The woods are peaceful and secure, although you must not feed animals.
Leeches can also be found, especially during the rainy season; however, they are not dangerous and can be removed easily. With caution and being attentive, you will have a pleasant and safe trip.
Travel Insurance
This trek would highly require travel insurance since it provides peace of mind throughout your journey. Even though the Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga Trek is easy and stays at a low altitude, unexpected situations can still happen. Under the proper insurance, you will feel safe, especially when you fall ill, get an injury, or have to vary your travel plans.
Select a policy that includes trekking as far as possible of two thousand five hundred metres and up, emergency medical services, and evacuation. In case you have to be evacuated to Kathmandu by ambulance or helicopter, insurance will not allow excessive personal expenses.
The usual travel-related problems, such as lost luggage, flight delays, or cancellation of the trip, are also covered by good insurance. Get a policy before you come and bring a copy with you.
Before the trek, please provide us with information about your policy in advance in order to help us in an emergency. Insurance is what you do not want to utilize, but it provides comfort on the journey.
Language and Communication
There will be no trouble with language on this trek. The national language is Nepali, and the local population speaks community languages, e.g., Tamang. Still, your guide and yoga instructor understand English and will assist you in engaging with the people you see. You will also find basic English spoken in tea houses and lodges along the way.
Although one may have the most limited English, such acts of warmth and smiling can make communication easy and comfortable. Your guide will translate where necessary, such as when you want to chat with villagers or understand their practices. And you can also learn some Nepali words, like Namaste, which means hello, or Dhanyabad, which means thank you.
Even just a single word will get the locals excited and enhance your experience. Hotel and restaurant workers in Kathmandu and Nagarkot also understand the English language. In general, this will make it easy, friendly, and approachable to communicate during the trek.
Mobile Network, Internet, and Charging
Most of the trek will keep you connected, although the signal may not be as good as at other places. The network is strong in Kathmandu and Sundarijal. You can also get a signal in Chisapani and Jhule, though in some places it is a weak signal, especially in the forested regions. Nagarkot is very well connected, and you can easily make calls or send messages.
The best way to stay connected during the trek is to purchase a local SIM card in Kathmandu with a data pack. In this Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga Trek, some tea houses have Internet access, which can be slow or charge a small fee. Wi Fi is readily accessible in Nagarkot and Kathmandu. You can charge your devices in any of the overnight stops.
The tea houses can pay a small amount of money to use their electric power, and the hotels of Nagarkot and Kathmandu provide regular charging points. It is a good idea to have a power bank. You can remain in comfortably connected environments with these facilities and at the same time experience the relaxing experience of the trek.
