Kalapathar Everest Trekking Itinerary

At Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport on fresh arrival where you will be warmly received by Life Himalaya Trekking representative and then with transfer to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city. After refreshment you will meet your  guide and he will brief you on Everest base camp trekking with other related information. At evening you will be welcomed with a welcome dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant with culture programs.Overnight stay at 3 star rated hotel in Kathmandu.

A free day in Kathmandu after your long flight from home countries. Our day starts after having breakfast for sightseeing tour along with a city guide around world’s heritage sites listed in UNESCO in Kathmandu. This includes Pashupatinath, Buddhanath, Swyambhunath (Monkey Temple) and Kathmandu Durbar square. In evening, you will have a briefing and orientation program where your trekking guide will provide you a brief information regarding trip and make a trek preparations for Everest base camp trek. Our day starts morning with a short and scenic 35 minutes flight to Lukla from Kathmandu after having breakfast. On our way to Lukla, we enjoy breathtaking scenarios of mountains which is about 35 minute’s flight.Our Kalapathar Everest trekking begins when we reach to Lukla. On reaching Lukla and with short refreshment break and introduce you to the porter and crew members. Then our trek begins gently alongside to Dudh Koshi River and passes through excellent paved footpaths, beautiful villages about four hours to reach Phakding. Overnight stay at tea house in Phakding.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Koshi River passing several interesting Sherpa villages of Toc-toc, Bhenkar and Monjo and arrive at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate. From here we walk on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar. Namche bazaar is the capital of Everest region which has a steep bowl shape landscape with an excellent mountains views  as well every kinds of facilities like ATM’s, bank, pubs, cyber, cafe, restaurants, etc. Overnight stay at tea house in Namche Bazaar.

Today is an ideal and perfect place for rest with acclimatization day, before heading higher altitude area and avoid altitude sickness problems. After late breakfast, we will short hike towards Everest view hotel from where we can see the panoramic view of the world highest mountains Mt. Ama Dablam, Everest, Lhoste, Nuptse, Thamserku and so on. Today we also experience Sherpa culture and their lifestyles and also visit the museum. Then we back to Namche and enjoy beautiful town as well take some rest and prepare for next day. Overnight stay at tea house in Namche Bazaar.

After having breakfast at the Namche, we follow the trial that leads towards the Kenjoma from where the trial to Gokyo Lake and Everest base camp separates.Then our gradual scenic path takes us with downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge-Tenga for lunch. Then we walk uphill through rhododendron and pine forest with views of beautiful snow-capped peaks towards famous village of Tengboche. On reaching Tengboche, we visit ancient and oldest famous Buddhist monastery with magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam. Overnight stay at tea house in Tengboche.

Morning downhill walk for few hours over Imjatse River, after the bridge walk on an open country where tree lines fades for few short juniper and  dwarf rhododendron bushes, uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters. Last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue walk with climb to Dingboche village for overnight stop, located in Imjatse valley with panorama of mountains.

Another rest day for proper acclimatization, a short hike to Nakarjung hills for best views of Mt. Makalu and other adjoining.

After a great rest at Dingboche morning walk with steep climb for an hour commanding excellent views, and then on gentle trail to Thugla for lunch where Khumbu glacier melts into a raging river, here trail from Pheriche joins after a break a steep climb for an hour to Thulga pass, with stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains. From here a nice pleasant walk brings to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Today reach the highlight of this adventure at Everest Base Camp, walk for few hours with short steep climb in between over glacier and moraine, reaching Gorakshep, beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar.

Walk continues towards Everest Base Camp, at base camp enjoy the view of Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers, after a lifetime experience return back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Early morning hike on top Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this adventure, offering incredible views of mountains including Mt. Everest at close distance, after a great moment return to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Thugla, and then downhill to Pheriche windy valley after a nice pleasant walk reaching at Pheriche for overnight stop.

Return journey much easier on losing heights every few hours, walking downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then to the bridge with two 2 hours climb to Thyangboche for overnight stop.

How Everest Kalapathar trek starts

Everest Kalapathar trek journey begins with a sightseeing tour of world heritage sites listed in UNESCO at Kathmandu valley. Then, we take a scenic short flight about 35 minutes from Kathmandu to the gateway town to Everest at Lukla.

EBC kalapther trek starts following an ancient route towards a beautiful Sherpa village of Phakding, Monjo to reach Sherpa’s capital- Namche Bazar. We spend a couple of nights at Namche, where we get an opportunity to experience Sherpa’s culture, tradition, and primitive lifestyles.

After proper rest with acclimatization, we head towards higher elevation following beautiful rhododendron forest to the famous village of Tengboche.

Kalapathar Everest base camp trekking trail leads us forwards toward the beautiful village of Pangboche and Dingboche. On the way, we will be rewarded with spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, Lhoste, Thamserku, Kwangde, and many others.

Then we follow the route through Lobuche, Gorak Shep to our final destination Everest base camp. Next, we climb the outstanding also the highest point of the trek- Kalapathar to explore the 360-degree panoramic views of Himalayan vistas with vibrant sunrise and sunsets.

Then we descend to Pheriche, Tengboche, Namche, Monjo to an end our trek at Lukla. After mesmerizing lifetime moments on the Kalapathar Everest base camp trek, we take a scenic return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Then we explore another world heritage site of Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square which is close to Kathmandu.
