Day 01: Arrival and transfer to hotel

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing

After having breakfast, you will start your day. Today is the proper day for sightseeing. You had your proper rest yesterday. Today you will spend a full day exploring Kathmandu city. It is also necessary because you may have to buy trekking stuff for this Everest Renjo la pass trek.

Day 03: Flight to Lukla (2860m) and hike to Phakding (2610m)

You better take the window seat on the flight. The beautiful scenery of mountains from the window will make you crazy. The duration of this flight is about 35 minutes. The landscape you see through this window is unexplainable.

The trails are small. Phakding is north to Lukla. Throughout this hike, you will many tea houses and hotels. You will follow the trails through the bank of Dudh Koshi River. You will stay here tonight.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) from Phakding

Trekking time: 6 hours

Everest Renjo la pass trek will take you Namche Bazaar in its fourth day. Namche Bazaar is the gateway to the Everest region. It is a beautiful village. It is a well-celebrated village in this Khumbu region.

You will continue to trek along the bank of Dudh Koshi crossing the valley of TokTak (2760m) and Benker (2710m). We will continue your journey through pine and Rhododendron forest. You will also see a few waterfalls on this journey.

In this journey to Namche Bazaar, you will pass through many suspension bridges. You will pass through Buddhist prayer flags and reach Jorsale. Army checkpoint is in this place. You will receive a national park entry ticket here. Walking through trails, you will reach the junction of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi.

It will take you 3-4 hours from here to reach Namche Bazaar. It is about 241km north-east from Kathmandu. Namche Bazaar is in the lap of Khumbu Himal ranges. You will be staying here today.

Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

Today is a rest day. Your body needs to adjust to the new environment. You can take a short hike across the villages of Khunde and Khumjung. From these villages, you can see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and many more.

Day 06: Trek to Dole (4150m)

Trekking time: 5-6 hours

After having your breakfast, you will start the trek for today. It will take you 5 to 6 hours to Dole. This will be an exciting journey for you. You are now comfortable with the altitude.

The trails are easy and comfortable up to Kyangjuma. After reaching this point, the trails will follow the uphill. It will go through a large Rhododendron forest. This is spring season and you will explore these forests to your best. Today you will cross 4000m mark. Everest and Lhotse seem closer.

You will leave the classic Everest Base Camp route. There are some tea houses at Mohang. There is a beautiful camping spot near the river of Phortse Tanga. You will have your lunch here. You will see small villages and a few monasteries on this route.

Through the settlements of Tonga and Gele, you will reach Dole. You will stay here today.

Day 07: Hike to Machhermo (4470m)

Trekking time: 5 hours

Yesterday you walked through the Rhododendron forest. Today, you will walk through beautiful Oak and Pine forests. Today’s hike is smooth as well as a steep hill walk.

The trail climbs to Lhabarma 4220m and Luza 4360m. At this height, the air becomes thinner. Both oxygen levels and air pressure decrease and you may feel difficulty breathing. You have to walk to the bushes of the juniper.

You will see scattered settlements and pastured land throughout this journey. Waking along the valley and riverside, you will cross Machhermo 4470m. There is various camping place around Machhermo.

The astounding views of Mount Cho Oyo will make you happy. All these sceneries and the environment will make your journey enjoyable.

Day 08: Reach and explore Gokyo (4800m)


Trekking time: 5 hours

Gokyo is one the main point of this entire Everest Renjo la pass trek. After having delicious breakfast you will head towards Gokyo valley.

There are various lakes in Gokyo valley. Gokyo valley is famous for its lake. Gokyo has a small town. The walk to Gokyo valley is quite difficult. You will head towards the beautiful path of Pangka.

You will start descending the trails after reaching Pangka. There are various ridges you would come across during this trek. This is a riverbank. Now you will start climbing the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier.

You will see a few monasteries in this trek. You will reach the first lake on this journey at 4650m. We will continue walking through the side of the glacier. You will soon reach the second lake. After crossing the glacier, you will reach the third lake known as Dudh Pokhari.

Walking by the side of this lake you will reach Gokyo. It is towards the eastern part of Dudh Pokhari. Gokyo is an ancient Sherpa settlement. You will see the most beautiful landscape from here. You will explore Gokyo and stay here tonight.

Day 09: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5357m) and Gokyo lake V

Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours

This is the most difficult trek in this journey of Everest Renjo la pass trek. Gokyo village to Gokyo Ri (5357m) is an exciting and adventurous journey altogether.

As soon as you reach Gokyo Ri, you will beautiful Mahalangur Himalayan range. You will climb uphill that too with rocky mountains. It will take you more than 2 hours to reach the peak of Gokyo Ri. The trail is full of hard rocks.

From the top, you will see Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, and many more. It provides a majestic view of Ngozumpa glacier. It is the largest glacier in Nepal. You can also see Cho la pass.

It is an acclimatization day for you. You can use this time and trek to Gokyo V. You will also enjoy the beauty and tradition of this place.

Day 10: Hike to Lunden (4300m) via Renjo la pass (5435m)

Trekking time: 7 hours

You will have an early breakfast and start the journey again. Today is the actual day while you climb Renjo la pass, in this journey of Everest Renjo la pass.

It goes through a rough valley. The trail takes you to the northern side of this region. It feels like you are in the Tibetan landscape. There are some grassland and steep mountains.

You climb through steep hills to reach Renjo la pass. You can view beautiful Terrence and valleys. Once you reach here and enjoy the view, you will start descending. It leads you through the beautiful valleys along with Bhotekoshi valley.

Yaks are heading along your path with loads of good in their back. You will reach Lunden after few hours of downhill trek. You will stay here in a small town.

Day 11: Hike to Thame (3800m) from Lunden

Trekking time: 5 hours

You will continue to walk down towards Thame. It is beautiful scenery following you towards Thame.

You will meet various Tibet merchants throughout this journey. You will follow the narrow valley along the bank of Bhote Koshi. Thame is a small Sherpa settlement. It is the same place where Tenzing Norgay spent most of his childhood.

This small village has a few beautiful monasteries. It reflects ancient Sherpa culture and tradition.

Day 12: Hike to Namche Bazaar

Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours

Everest Renjo la pass trek is in its final phase. Now its time to hike towards Namche Bazaar. This trek back is beautiful.

There is no major uphill or downhill. It is quite an easy trek. You will climb downwards after crossing a few bridges. You will be in the Same in no time.

Day 13: Hike to Lukla

Trekking time: 6 to 7 hours

Click all the necessary photos. You will be in Kathmandu tomorrow. Have a proper rest. Today is the last day of your trekking.

Trek continuos through the bank of the Dudh Koshi river. You have to cross this river three times. Again you have to trek upwards. 45 to 50 minutes later you will reach Lukla. Relax and enjoy the moment.

Day 14: Back to Kathmandu

The end is here. Your flight will take you to Kathmandu. You will complete the trekking part of Everest Renjo la pass trek here.

If the weather is fine, you will take the first flight. You will see the various mountain ranges from this flight. Within 25-30 minutes you will be in Kathmandu. The views from this mountain flight are awesome.
